Fact or Fiction – IUDs are available only to women that have had children?

Fiction: IUDs are a great source of contraception for ALL women……teenagers included. The thought that you had to have had children in order to be a candidate for an iud is old school at best. IUDs are the most popular form of contraception outside the United States. The fact that it takes compliance right out of the equation as once it is placed, it can stay in place for 5-10 years(depending on what type you choose), makes iuds a popular, effective, and efficient choice.
